DEREMO NO. 1 SHAFT IS 780 FT DEEP. DEREMO NO. 2 SHAFT (4-FT DIAM) IS PROBABLY SIMILAR DEPTH AND LIES 3350 FT S 17 W FROM NO. 1 SHAFT. SNYDER SHAFT (4-FT DIAM) WAS SUNK TO 750 FT AND LIES 1340 FT S 43 W FROM NO 2. ELEVEN VENT HOLES TO SURFACE VARY FROM 25.5 TO 60 INCHES IN DIAMETER. FOLLOWING MEASUREMENTS MADE FROM MINE MAPS DATED APRIL 1971 IN CDM FILES. SNYDER WORKINGS DEVELOPED BY 4 BRANCHES FROM SHAFT: (1) SOUTH BRANCH TRENDS 50-15 E FOR 1700 FT, THENCE S 60 W FOR 800 FT, THENCE S 23 W FOR 450 FT, THENCE S 40 W FOR 800 FT, TERMINATING AT VENT HOLE 4, SUBSIDIARY BRANCHES TOTALING 2240 FT; (2) WEST BRANCH TRENDS DUE WEST FOR 350 FT; (3) NORTHWEST BRANCH TRENDS N 40 W FOR 250 FT, THENCE DUE WEST FOR 160 FT TO STATE LINE, THENCE AT LEAST 140 FT INTO UTAH; (4) NORTH BRANCH TRENDS DUE NORTH FOR 150 FT, THENCE N60E FOR 1200 FT., THENCE N 15 W FOR 350 FT, CONNECTING WITH DEREMO 2 SHAFT. NORTH BRANCH HAS APPROX. 700 FT SUBSIDIARY BRANCHES. MAJOR MINED AREAS (RANDOM ROOM AND PILLAR) LIE SOUTH AND EAST OF SOUTH BRANCH, WEST OF SOUTH BRANCH, AT BEND IN NORTHWEST BRANCH, NORTH OF NORTH-NORTHEAST BRANCH. PRINCIPAL WORKINGS FROM DEREMO NO. 2 SHAFT TREND N 65 E FOR 470 FT, THENCE

SINKING OF DEREMO NO. 1 SHAFT BEGAN IN 1957 AND FINISHED IN 1959. DEREMO NO. 2 SHAFT COMPLETED SOMETIME BETWEEN 1963 AND 1970. SNYDER SHAFT SUNK IN 1967-68 TO CONNECT WITH OTHER WORKINGS. BY 1969 SNYDER WORKINGS HAD ALSO EXTENDED WESTWARD INTO UTAH.
