Sedimentierter Hämatit mit etwas Hausmannit (?), Grube Lindenberg. Münster bei Selters (Taunus).

Mit Apatit-Schmirgel 80 / 60 anpoliertes Muster (eine weitere Politur erfolgte spaeter mit Schmirgel 1.200). Roteisenstein in dieser Ausprägung zählt zu den eisenreichen sedimentären Gesteinen. Die Sedimentation kann a) durch Ablagerung vulkanischer Feinpartikel und anschließende Verfestigung erklärt werden, das Gestein wäre somit ein Metatonstein. Erklärt werden kann die Entstehung auch durch b) chemische Fällung aus vulkanogenem FeCl2 (Eisenchlorid) und Kieselsäure.
