Mineralienatlas - Fossilienatlas
In the encyclopedia you can as well write your own free contributions and articles - apart from the prepared overviews in minerals, stones and locations. To gain an attractive layout you can use pictures from the media-library.
You can organise the pictures in tables or freely in the text ( to the right, to the left and centered ). Different sizes in preview are available. With a click the zoomed size is appearing.
An example for a centered picture of a width of 250 pixel:

If you are already acquianted with the text window you will certainly have noticed that you can't place a picture such as simple. Instead of the picture itsself spacers consisting of a few letters and text are used. Only after saving the text the spacers will be replaced by the picture and the picture is showing up.

This is an example of a spacer producing the picture above. <# id=1267927676,m,w250 #>
m the m is for centered and tells where on the page the picture shall be shown. On centered pictures no text will be shown right and left to the picture bei r rechts ausgerichteten und l links ausgerichteten Bildern fließt der Text am Bild links oder rechts vorbei.
Note: A picture that shall be shown aside the text must always be inserted before the text. Should it appear right or left and the text in the middle then both pictures have to be inserted before the text.
Because the frame around the picture is automatically fitted in width and height, it could be on high slim pictured that the frame is too wide optically. This can be corrected with twidth ( width of table ). twidth=200 sets the width of the frame to 200 pixel.
Here an example with all parameters spoken about so far:
<# id=1278971945,r,h250#fixed twidth=190 #>
Right - in the text - you can see how the picture of 250 pixel height would look lined up to the right in a frame of 190 pixel width.

In the edit window it could be likely to happen to lose the overview on which picture number is linked to which picture. To find out quickly every 10 digit picture number can be double clicked and the relevant picture will appear as zoom preview with the primary description.
Because the text is flowing around the picture the pictures themselves should be placed at the beginning of the text. The following text will then be shown right or left of the picture. You can also let the text flow between two pictures if you insert one picture right and one picture left at the beginning of the text. Because the two inserted pictures could cover the following objects it's recommended to close a picture / text field with <brclear> in the line that is following.
These 3 switch fields allow you to insert space holders (center, right, left)
For the case you use these browsers "Firefox" or "Google Chrome" you may as well insert pictures with drag and drop. For this you need to open two browser windows. In one of the windows you open the media library from which you wish to insert the picture, in the other window you open the page to be edited in the edit mode. Drag the desired picture with your mouse to the position in the text where the picture shall be inserted. Release the mouse button then. In the text the space holder for the picture will shine up. You can amend the space holder because the picture will be inserted in the standard mode with 250 pixel width and centered position.
If you can't fit the broswer window in the size as described in order to move the pictures between the two windows then depending on your operation system also the keyboard can be used to change the window ( picture marked with the mouse and button pressed down ). For example Microsoft Windows uses "Alt" + "Tab" or "Windows Key" + "Tab". Wenn sie das Zielfenster erreicht haben, schieben sie das immer noch im Ziehen befindliche Bild einfach an die passende Stelle und lassen die Maustaste los.
More advanced users have aready also dealt with the possibility to set up tables in the encyclopedia. In the edit window there are some symbols to insert a table. More information you can find under RichTablePlugin.
Here is a simple example of a table consisting of 3 fields in one row. In each field a picture has been inserted as described before.
First the source text and then the result:
<?plugin RichTable *class=atlas-bn, bgcolor=#f6f6f6, align=center, width=100% -valign=top |*width=33%, align=center Case 1 with picture <# id=1267905697,l,w250 #> |*width=33%, align=center Case 2 with picture <# id=1204307734,m,w250 #> |*width=33%, align=center Case 3 with picture <# id=1193351926,r,w250 #> - ?>

As you can see the description of a picture is always shown together with the picture. If you need to change the despriction of the picture then zoom into the picture with a click and edit. Description of the picture and the picture itsself are one unit. This helps to avoid wrong picture descriptions and missing descriptions. You can change the description also in the edit window by double click onto the pictrure number and clicking "edit".
If you need to add commentary texts to the picture numbers also, which could help you to orientate in the edit window you can do by starting a text with the slash sign and a star in the first line and stopping the text with the slash sign and a star in the last line.
/* This is a small comment to demonstrate */
The comment will - different to here - nicht not be shown in the saved page but only in the source text.
Internet Explorer IE version lower than version 8, has massive problems in lining up objects in a text. It would be exceeding our capabilities if we would describe this further on this instruction manual. To line up sveral pictures right or left in a table with IE lower than V.8 correctly it is recommended to insert after every pictire (not after the last picture) the <brclear> , which causes line changes. Here an example with 3 pictures lined up to the right and below each other and <brclear> ( only for IE lower than version V.8)
<?plugin RichTable
