Rowledge und Hayton entdeckt ein neues Mineral von Londonderry, Western Australien mit ähnlicher chemischer Zusammensetzung, sie nannten es Bowleyit. Mineralogische Studien durchgeführt von Strunz bestätigten später, dass die chemische Zusammensetzung und die Eigenschaften von Bowleyit identisch sind mit Bityit.
