Cuprorivait - 'Ägyptisch Blau'

Das Mineral Cuprorivait wurde bereits um 2500 vor Christus als blaues Farbpigment künstlich hergestellt ('Ägyptisch Blau') (1). Ähnlich(2,3) zu Ägyptisch Blau sind die Pigmente

  • Han Blau, BaCuSi4O10 (das Mineral Effenbergerit) sowie
  • Han Violett BaCuSi2O6 (Colinowensit).
  • Zudem lassen sich weitere blauer Farbpigmente der Form(Ca,Sr,Ba)CuSi4O10 beschreiben (7), was das Mineral Wesselsit einschließt

Gemeinsam ist dieser Pigmentfamilie eine Lumineszenz im nahen Infraroten (Bande um 900 nm) bei Anregung mit Licht im Bereich von rund 450 bis 900 nm (1-3). Diese Eigenschaft wird für archäologische und kunsthistorische Untersuchungen genutzt, siehe z.B. (2-11).
