Die 2012 herausgebrachte Nomenklatur der Amphibole klassifiziert die Amphibole auf der Grundlage der dominierende Element in jeder Position, sofern nicht anders erforderlich, um die Formel auszubalanzieren. Parvo-Manganotremolit das mit (CaMn2+) in der B-Position definiert ist, wird damit diskreditiert. In der von Oberti et.al. (2006) angegebenen empirischen Formel qualifiziert sich dieses Material als Mn-reichen Tremolit.
