Ursprünglich unter dem Namen Kalium-Fluor-Richterit (Della Ventura et.al (1983) bekannt. Als Fluor-Kalium-Richterit auf der Grundlage von Burke & Leake (2004) umbenannt. Erneut umbenannt in Kalium-Fluor-Richterite auf der Grundlage von Hawthorne et al. (2012).
