Detailed Description

Lage

Provinz Shan (Nord-Myanmar), NW-Hang des Luy Taunggaw (Loi Tawngkyaw, Luylun-Gebirge. Ca. 120 km NE von Mandalay, ca. 35 km NE von Mogok, zwischen dem Fluss Irrawady und dem Shan-Plateau.


Geologie

Präkambrische kristalline Gneise, Biotit-Cordierit-Schiefer, Granulite, Quarzite, Kalksteine und Marmor, sowie intrusive Granite und Syenite mit Pegmatiten.


Mineralien

Fluorit

In den Jahren 1999 bis 2000 gelangten ausgefallene, kugelig-schalige, violette Aggregate auf den Markt. Diese Aggregate sind aus radial-fächerförmigen Hexaedern aufgebaut und sind nicht botryoidal. Das Vorkommen war sehr limitiert, entsprechend die Marktpreise für gute Stufen sehr hoch.
