Additional information / Summary

Der sog. Allalin-Gabbro ist ein metamorph überprägter Olivin-Gabbro. Unter Bedingungen der Eklogitfazies bildeten sich dabei Omphacit, Jadeit, Pyrop, Zoisit und z.T. auch Kyanit (eklogitisierter Gabbro). Bei der späteren Heraushebung an die Erdoberfläche entstanden durch retrograde Metamorphose lokal zudem Aktinolith bzw. "Uralit", Albit und Quarz.

Funde u.a. im Bach der Saaser Vispa unterhalb des Mattmark-Stausees (CH).

Detailed description

Die Zusammensetzung des Allalin Gabbros kann sehr uneinheitlich sein. Die grünen Minerale können Omphacit und/oder Aktinolith (in der Varietät Smaragdit) sein. Z.T. ist auch noch (magmatischer) Olivin und Augit erhalten geblieben. Die weißen Anteile bestehen aus Jadeit, Zoisit und Albit, manchmal ist auch Quarz dabei. Zudem können pyropreicher Granat und Talk enthalten sein.
