Lage

Tal im Bergmassiv in der Garmskiy-Region, zwischen der Zerafshan- und der Alay-Bergkette, südliches Tienshan-Gebirge.

Dara-i-Pioz bitte nicht verwechseln mit Dara-i-Pech in Afghanistan.
"Dara"= Tal,
"Pioz" ist eine Pflanze, etwa Asaphoetida (ferula) (siehe https://www.mindat.org/photo-957173.html).


Geologie

Granosyenite, Quarz-Aegirin Syenite, Granat Nephelin Syenite und Aegirin Syenite (Sviatonossite), welche karbonische Kalksteine und Sedimente intrudieren.
Die Intrusionen werden von Lamprophyren und Pegmatiten gekreuzt, in welchen hauptsächlich Aegirin mit Fluorit, Quarz und Mikroklin vorherrschen.
